The Soapy Soak:
Mix warm water with a mild, phosphate-free dish soap. Soak the jewellery, gently clean crevices using a soft baby toothbrush, rinse completely, and pat dry.

The Aluminium Foil & Baking Soda Method (For Tarnish):
Line a heat-proof glass dish with aluminium foil (shiny side up) and place your silver on top. Sprinkle with baking soda, then pour boiling water over the pieces. The resulting chemical reaction instantly transfers the tarnish onto the foil.

Liquid Polish:
Dip chains or smooth surfaces into a liquid silver cleaner using a basket, or use a treated polishing cloth to avoid damaging delicate or engraved details.

What to Avoid:
Skip abrasive pastes like toothpaste, baking soda pastes, and harsh commercial "dip" polishes, as these can strip away layers and permanently scratch delicate finishes. Put your silver jewellery on last to avoid exposure to hairsprays, lotions, and perfumes. Always remove it before swimming in chlorinated pools or bathing, as moisture and sulphur accelerate tarnishing.
